Live from the Yoga Service Council Baby

by Where is My Guru on May 15, 2012

Joy. Resilience. Well Being. Regardless of the circumstance? Yes.

This week we are live at the Yoga Service Council from Omega Institute. More about the Yoga Service Council from their website . . .

“The Yoga Service Council was formed in 2009 at the Omega Institute by a group of organizations bringing yoga to underserved populations. As we worked to support each other, exchange ideas and envision the future, a collaboration was sparked that has made all of our efforts stronger and more intentional.”

Held at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY, May 18 through the 20th, the Yoga Service Council is a way for individuals to connect, share and learn so more people who wouldn’t normally be able to experience yoga can be served. Connect with them on Facebook to stay in the know.

Join us this Friday to learn more about it as well as gain knowledge from experienced practitioners from the field.

If  you would like to join us, please feel free to call anytime between 11 am – 12 om EST / 8 am – 9 am PST / 9 am – 10 am MST on Friday, May 18th at the below contact information:

Where is My Guru brings you The Tadasana Talks – a series of short interviews recorded live at Tadasana Festival that took place in Santa Monica, California April 20-22. Tadasana Festival fused yoga, world music, art and community. Where is My Guru connected with over 30 teachers, artists and musicians who who taught, played or participated in the festival.

“Derek Beres has devoted his life to exposing people to international music, yoga and mythology as a means of creating better individuals and a more understanding global culture. ” (from Derek’s bio on his website…)

I’d say so.

The very cool, clear and collected Derek Beres, Creative Director for Tadasana Festival made it to the Buzz Bus for an interview just as the last drum beats in Shiva Rea’s class were sounding the end of what is only a new beginning for he and his team. What did he say when I asked him how he felt after three amazing days of music, community and dialogue?

“Satisfied.”
